Dr. Nashwa Ahmed Appointed Director of Sharjah Center for Innovation in Legal and Judicial Studies

Professor Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, has issued a decision to establish the Sharjah Center for Innovation in Legal and Judicial Studies within the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sharjah. Dr. Nashwa Ahmed has been appointed as the center’s director.

The establishment of the center was approved by the University of Sharjah Board of Trustees, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, in cooperation with the Judicial Council in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The center aims to enhance research and innovation by integrating technology with the legal field. This will serve social research efforts by conducting studies in digital justice, laws and strategies related to digital technologies in judicial systems, and examining artificial intelligence applications to improve case management, legal research, and predictive analytics. The center will also focus on developing technology-based models for efficient and accessible electronic dispute resolution.
Furthermore, the center will study the relationship between legal sciences and artificial intelligence, technology, engineering, medicine, ethics, humanities, and social sciences to develop innovative solutions for legal and judicial challenges. It will also explore the legal and ethical dimensions of integrating artificial intelligence into judicial and legal systems.
